Join us on Sunday October 23 and imagine Dame Ngaio Marsh's world through her own eyes.
The event, part of Christchurch Heritage Festival 2022, will explore Dame Ngaio's incredible story through her diaries and travel writing. It will be hosted by New Zealand travel and crime writer Vicki Virtue, writer in residence at The Raffles Hotel in Singapore. It will feature an exclusive interview with actor Patrick Malahide, the eponymous Inspector Roderick Alleyn from the BBC's Dame Ngaio Marsh adaptation The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries.
You can join this event in person from 2-3pm, at Tūranga, the central Library in Christchurch, or purchase an online ticket to enjoy the event from home. Tickets are $20 per person.
The event will unravel the story behind Ngaio’s incredible journey from Christchurch onto the international stage as one of the Golden Age's Queens of Crime, alongside Agatha Christie and Dorothy L Sayers.
This event is organised by Ngaio Marsh House and Heritage Trust, and is a fundraiser for the Trust. Funds raised will go towards the preservation and maintenance of Ngaio Marsh House as a house museum for the public.
